Seeking Proposals From Neighbors, Artists, Gardeners and Students to Create a Working Waterfront That Restores Our Environment!

Neighbors Against Garbage (NAG), its project, the Friends of the Williamsburg Waterfront, and Brooklyn Architects Collective (BAC) are soliciting ideas and active participation from Williamsburg/Greenpoint artists, artisans, gardeners and other interested community members to create living, sustainable works of beauty such as ecological art and water gardens along the 450' water's edge of the Williamsburg Waterfront State Park between N. 7th and N. 9th Street.

If You Win
The Kaplan and Hudson River Foundations and the New York City Environmental Fund have generously provided us with funding to elicit and document community ideas. If your work is chosen by our selection committee, we will pay you a stipend to develop your proposal and include it in NAG's proposal to the New York State Office of Parks and Historic Preservation for implementation.

Eligibility
Anyone. but those who do not live in the neighborhood must have a community sponsor, such as a neighborhood based group.

Criteria
Beauty, "green-ness", sustainability, remediative capabilities, participatory nature, (how does your living machine attract and interact with people) and maintenance over generations.
