The Contest
Neighbors Against Garbage (NAG), its project, the Friends of the Williamsburg
Waterfront, and Brooklyn Architects Collective (BAC) are soliciting ideas and active
participation from Williamsburg/Greenpoint artists, artisans, gardeners and other
interested community members to create living, sustainable works of beauty such as
ecological art and water gardens along the 450' water's edge of the Williamsburg
Waterfront State Park between N. 7th and N. 9th Street.
If You Win
The Kaplan and Hudson River Foundations and the New York City Environmental
Fund have generously provided us with funding to elicit and document community

develop your proposal and include it in NAG's proposal to the New York State Office of
Parks and Historic Preservation for implementation.

community sponsor, such as a neighborhood based group.

Beauty, "green-ness", sustainability, remediative capabilities, participatory
nature, (how does your living machine attract and interact with people) and
