DUE DATE: SATURDAY, ***SEPTEMBER 24TH 5 PM. Boards may be mailed or delivered.
FORMAT: Up to two 11" by 17" boards oriented either horizontally or vertically. The boards must be composed of flat paper mounted securely to the board, e.g. No protrusions or mounted models are allowed. These may be printed, collaged or hand drawn. Please conserve and reduce packaging material —no boxes or bubble-wrap.
REQUIREMENTS:
Upper left-hand corner of the first board must have:
1- Text (14 pt or larger) describing the project and answering these questions:
- How would your proposal be realized?
- How would you be involved?
- What do you imagine your participation would be in tending and experiencing your proposal during the years to come?
- How do you think your proposal would involve the community in stewardship of their water'sedge?
- How would your proposal positively affect the ecology at the water's edge and beyond?
- How much do you think it would cost to implement or start to implement?
- How would your proposal evolve over the years?
2- Location map showing location and extent of your proposal at 1"=1200" or 1" = 100' (the same scale as the map on the back of this page)
3- No text identifying you or your organization or members of your team should appear on the boards. A sealed envelope containing one sheet of 8 ½" by 11" paper identifying your team with names, address(es), telephone numbers and e-mail addresses should be taped to the back of the first board.
REQUESTS: In addition to the one or two boards, a digital submission is requested but not required. If you submit your proposal digitally, create a CD with a small but legible pdf file. Place the labeled CD in a plain envelope on the back of the board.
We request that you e-mail an "intent to submit" to mcb@brooklynarchitects.com. Include your name, your organization and an e-mail address.
Non-experts and non professionals are encouraged to submit their ideas. If our judges select you, we will work with you to make it happen!
